2012: Massa / 2013: Perez?

Felipe Massa has had a difficult few seasons since his return to F1 from the horrific accident (Hungarian GP) that probably should’ve killed him in 2009. Recent reports from Scuderia Ferrari boss, Stefano Domenicali express that the team is fully backing Massa, however with the dismal finishes the number 2 driver is delivering, you know the folks in Maranello must be getting concerned.

Word on the street is that Mexican phenom, Sergio Perez (Sauber) might get bumped up to the prancing horse next season, but that remains to be seen.

For the constant pressure on Ferrari, you’ve got to admit that they’ve been exceptionally patient with Massa…However, motorsports is a performance based business and before long they’ll have to make a change. Unless Massa is able to work out the issues (be it car, driver or both), I’d say the next helmet Perez has painted up will be red.
